What to wear

You are probably wondering, “What should I wear?”  Well, here are my
suggestions, followed my the reasons why:

What to wear
- Hat with a visor
- Shorts
- Long sleeve “technical” shirt
- Windbreaker/light jacket

Why?
Hat with a visor – Most of your body heat is lost through your upper
body.  Wearing a cap on your head helps to maintain body heat.  Also,
if it is raining, the visor helps to keep the rain out of your eyes.

Shorts – You are probably thinking that I’m crazy at this point, but
as I said before, you lose body heat through your upper body.  Unless
you have a problem with having really cold legs, wearing shorts can
help you to not get too hot, and it helps to reduce the weight of your
clothing.  If you aren’t brave enough to try shorts, wear light weight
running pants or running tights.  Don’t wear cotton sweat pants.

Long Sleeve Technical Shirt – No matter what the conditions are, you
never want to wear cotton clothing next to your body.  It absorbs
moisture.  If it is cold outside, having a wet shirt on will make you
colder.  A shirt made of technical fabric “wicks” moisture away from
your body so that you stay warmer and relatively drier in the winter
months.

Windbreaker/Light Jacket – As the name suggests, this acts as a
protective shell against the cooling effects of the wind as well as
shield you somewhat from the rain.

See you at the square!
